Manchester United started their 2022/23 pre-season preparation period on Monday (27/6/2022). There are a number of interesting things from this inaugural training session in the Erik ten Hag era .
After Ralf Rangnick’s duties as interim manager were completed, Manchester United has now begun to be managed by Ten Hag, who has been appointed to fill the manager’s post since last April.
Recently, Manchester United has also officially appointed two figures to become Ten Hag’s assistants. The two names are Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag.

For the majority of the Manchester United squad, this is the first time they have met the coaching staff. The introductory session became very crucial in this inaugural practice.
According to internal sources, the introductory session of Ten Hag and his assistants lasted for several minutes. However, what they say is still a secret.
Of course, Ten Hag tried from the start to try to embrace all players without exception. This is very important for Manchester United’s pre-season journey going forward.
It was not only Ten Hag who attended this inaugural session. Steve McClaren the assistant was also seen actively leading the players’ training sessions when playing the ball.
For McClaren, working with the Ten Hag was nothing new. The two have collaborated at Twente and presented the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season.
In addition, this is also not the first time McClaren has served as assistant manager at Manchester United. He was Sir Alex Ferguson’s accomplice from 1999 to 2001.
The poor achievement of Manchester United’s 2021/22 season yesterday made the players return to Carrington with quite heavy pressure, namely to be able to get up in the new season.

For the first time, there are Alejandro Garnacho, Matej Kovar, Nathan Bishop, Ethan Laird, Bjorn Hardley, Will Fish and Fernandez, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Wellens and Ethan Galbraith, Tahith Chong, Shola Shoretire, Hingga Noam Emeran.
In the new season there are usually players who have new jersey numbers. In the Manchester United squad this time, it happened to left-back Alvaro Fernandez.
Last season, Fernandez wore number 74 in the Manchester United main squad. From now on, the 19-year-old left-back will get the number 42.
This means that Fernandez could be getting a bigger share in the Manchester United main squad for this new season.
