with the most active player purchases in the 2022/23 summer transfer window. Nottingham Forest became the last team to ensure promotion from the Championship.
They won it thanks to a victory in the final play-off against Huddersfield Town. In order to prepare the team as well as possible
for their first Premier League season since 1998, Nottingham has so far recruited up to 15 players with a total value of £100 million.
The owner of the club from Greece, Evangelos Marinakis really doesn’t want Nottingham to just hitch a ride in the Premier League which airs on Vidio,
SCTV and O Channel. He also dared to invest heavily. Who are the 15 players Nottingham Forest signed for this summer? Here’s the full list.
In the goalkeeper sector, Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest decided to borrow Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
Henderson has also proven his quality by thwarting an opponent’s penalty when The Forest beat West Ham 1-0 at the weekend.
Another goalkeeper who was recruited by Nottingham was Wayne Hennessey. The Wales national team goalkeeper was recruited for free after his contract with Burnley expired.
Unmitigated, Nottingham recruited five defenders at once. One of them is central defender Moussa Niakhate who was signed from Mainz for 10 million euros.
Meanwhile, two players at right-back were also brought in by Nottingham. They are Neco Williams who was bought from Liverpool for 16 million pounds
and Giulian Biancone who was brought in from Troyes for 10 million euros.
At the left-back post, Nottingham also recruited two players at once. They are Omar Richards from Bayern Munich and Harry Toffolo from Huddersfield.
The best signings are in the midfield sector. Nottingham Forest have signed a total of six players this summer.
One name that caught the most attention was of course Jesse Lingard, who was recruited for free after his contract with Manchester United ended.
Then, there is the Swiss international midfielder, Remo Freuler who was bought from Atalanta, as well as the former Crystal Palace player,
Cheikhou Kouyate who was recruited for free. The other three names are Lewis O’Brien from Huddersfield, Orel Mangala from Stuttgart,
and young player Brandon Aguilera from Costa Rican club Alajuelense.
In the attacking sector, Cooper decided to hook two players at once. They are Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis.
Awoniyi became Nottingham’s most expensive purchase. The Nigerian striker was recruited from Union Berlin for a fee of 20.5 million euros.
Interestingly, Awoniyi and Dennis both have experience defending Premier League teams. Awoniyi had time to inhabit Liverpool’s first team, while Dennis was with Watford.
