Mohamed Salah revealed his closest ambition to being able to win the Champions League again with Liverpool in the 2021-2022 season.
Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s mainstay player who has helped the Reds win various prestigious titles.
Since signing from AS Roma in 2017, Mohamed Salah has developed into one of the wingers that his opponents fear.
In the 2021-2022 season, Mohamed Salah has contributed to 30 goals in 43 appearances in various competitions with Liverpool.
The Egyptian player also helped Liverpool win the English League Cup last February.
Now, Mo Salah with Liverpool has been trying to set a record by becoming the first English team to win a quadruple or four titles in a season.
The Reds have reached the FA Cup final and will face Chelsea in May.
Meanwhile in the Premier League, Liverpool are in a race with Man City with only one point behind.
In addition, now Liverpool will also welcome the semifinal first leg of the 2021-2022 Champions League against Villarreal.
This match will be held at Anfield on Wednesday (27/4/2022) local time or Thursday morning at 02.00 WIB.
Liverpool’s success continues this season with the achievement of the Premier League trophy after appearing very dominant throughout the season.
Mohamed Salah also admitted that he always wanted to win both trophies when he decided to return to England to accept Liverpool’s proposal in 2017.
“Always when people ask you which one do you prefer, the Premier League or the Champions League? I always say both, thank God we won both. That’s great,” Salah told Liverpool’s ‘Champions’ series.
“Winning the league this season feels amazing. It’s great, it’s unbelievable. Since coming here, I said that I wanted to win the Premier League with this club. What I saw from the fans and the people here was amazing, I really enjoyed it. happy and enjoy it,” added Mohamed Salah.
Although last season they won the Champions League, Liverpool had to suffer disappointment in the Premier League because they failed to become champions with a difference of only one point from the champions, Manchester City.
A little backwards, Mohamed Salah had felt disappointment when Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final.
“I believe, yes. The defeat gave us more confidence. Imagine if we had to lose in the Champions League for the second time, in two seasons in a row and lose the Premier League by one point. You will be disappointed. However, it gave us more confidence,” he said.
