Jürgen Klopp’s future with the Premier League giants Liverpool has become one of the hotly discussed topics. Jürgen Klopp had expressed his intention not to continue his coaching career at Liverpool after his tenure ended.
Previously, Jürgen Klopp had expressed his desire to take a break from football after his contract expired at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Jürgen Klopp is known to have been with Liverpool since replacing Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.
The German tactician’s contract expires in June 2024.
After showing signs of rejection, Klopp has recently begun to soften.
Earlier this April, Klopp did not dismiss the opportunity to extend his contract with Liverpool.
The Reds are now reportedly speeding up talks with Klopp to fence him off on a new contract.
According to The Times report quoted by BolaSport.com, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) president Mike Gordon, has traveled to Liverpool.
Mike Gordon plans to meet with Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, to discuss a new deal.
Gordon and Marc Kosicke were also present in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Villarreal in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, Wednesday (27/4/2022) or Thursday morning WIB.
The Liverpool president sees Klopp as a perfect fit for the team and wants him to stay as long as he wants to be in charge.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach is reportedly currently earning £10 million per year at Anfield.
If you agree on a new contract, it is not impossible that Klopp’s pay will increase.
Klopp himself still has the opportunity to offer four additional titles for Liverpool in the 2021-2022 season.
The Reds have won their first trophy of the season in the form of the English League Cup.
They are also fighting for the Premier League title with only one point behind Manchester City.
Liverpool have also put one foot in the Champions League final.
They will look to maintain their two-goal lead when they face Villarreal in Spain in next week’s Champions League semi-final second leg.
Having signed a contract extension to keep him at Anfield until 2026. Klopp has set his sights on the end of a successful season, with the Premier League title, Champions League and FA Cup all within their reach to add to the League Cup – which is already locked in the trophy cabinet.
Since arriving in 2015, Klopp has helped turn fortunes in the red corner of Merseyside, bringing domestic and European glory to the club.
Now, the German wants more, saying, “We can’t wait 10 years to make memories. We have to do it now. We must enjoy the trip. We don’t know if we are going to win something. But at the moment, we are trying to squeeze everything out of this season that is possible.“
Liverpool are also scheduled to face Chelsea on May 14 at Wembley Stadium in the final of the FA Cup.
