Jose Mourinho Has Been 5 Times Champion of European Competitions, Complete Collection from UCL, UEL, to UECL!
AS Roma successfully won the inaugural edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League after overthrowing Feyenoord with a 1-0 score in the 2021/22 season final which was held at the Kombetare Arena, Tirana, Thursday (26/5/2022) early morning WIB.
The only goal scored by Nicolo Zaniolo in the middle of the first half was enough to bring Roma to beat Feyenoord in this final.
This is Roma’s first trophy under Jose Mourinho, as well as their first trophy since the success in the Coppa Italia 2007/08 season ago.
For Mourinho, this is his fifth trophy in European club competition. Amazingly, the 59-year-old man has a 100 percent winning record in the final of the blue continent competition.
The 2003 Europa League, which at that time was still called the UEFA Cup, became Mourinho’s first final in Europe. At that time he successfully brought Porto champion by beating Celtic 2-0.
A year later, Mourinho made history by bringing Porto to the Champions League champions. He succeeded in repeating this feat with Inter Milan in 2010.
Mourinho was then again victorious in Europe for the third time, but this time in the Europa League competition when he led Manchester United to win it in 2017.
Not only that, winning the UECL trophy made Mourinho the second coach to win five trophies in European club competitions.
The first figure who managed to do it was the legendary Italian coach, Giovanni Trapattoni. Interestingly, he won all five of Trapattoni’s European trophies with Juventus.
Trapattoni’s collection of European titles is one each for the Champions Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup and European Super Cup, as well as two UEFA Cup titles.
