Carlos Queiroz Returns to Lead Iran for 2022, The Iranian national team has a new coach but an old feeling to face competition in the upcoming 2022 World Cup .

World Cup finals in Qatar in less than three months, Iranian state media reported on Tuesday.

As reported by Reuters, the former Real Madrid coach traveled to Tehran last weekend. Then Queiroz signed a deal to replace Croatian Dragan Skocic who ended the partnership.

Previously, Carlos Queiroz Returns to Lead Iran, Dragan Skocic saw Iran qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals and won 15 of his 18 matches since replacing Marc Wilmots.

Worked in the Iranian National Team

He has been linked with a return to the role since Mehdi Taj was elected president of the Iranian football federation.

Iran’s Gait

The Iranian national team has been a regular at the World Cup since 1998 in France. For the upcoming edition in Qatar, they are in Group B with England, Wales and the United States.

Failed to bring Egypt through

Prior to the news of this deal,Carlos Queiroz Returns to Lead Iran, Queiroz was the coach of the Egyptian national team. He was fired for failing to bring Mohamed Salah et al. qualify for Qatar.

The Egyptian national team he coached lost to Senegal in the play-off round of the African zone through a penalty shootout on March 30, 2022.

Shin Tae-yong Deposits Names of Naturalized Player Candidates for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, PSSI Moves Quickly to the Netherlands

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan admits that he has received a list of the names of players who will be naturalized for the benefit of the 2023 U-20 World Cup . According to Iriawan, his party this week will move quickly to visit the players in the Netherlands.

Coach Shin Tae-yong previously admitted that he had deposited the names of the candidates for naturalization who were wanted to defend the Indonesian national team in the 2023 U-20 World Cup . Now, only PSSI is working behind the scenes to realize Shin Tae-yong’s wishes.

We are currently working on potential players for the naturalization of the U-20 team who will play in the 2023 U-20 World Cup . We just got the name from Shin Tae-yong,” said Mochamad Iriawan.

According to Iriawan, there are five players who are included in the naturalization radar for the U-20 Indonesian National Team. However, not all of them have agreed to change their citizenship to Indonesian.

Coach Shin Tae-yong is currently focusing on preparing the U-20 Indonesia national team which will compete in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification. The South Korean coach said the quality of his team’s game is getting better.

“Starting from August 26 every day we practice three times a day. Currently, the condition of the players is very good in following my directions. Physically improving and today focusing on touching the ball. The training program so far has been smooth,” said Shin Tae-yong.

The Indonesian U-20 national team still has plenty of time to prepare. The 2023 U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers will be held in Surabaya on 14-18 September 2022.

Lots of Progress

The majority of the players who were called up to take part in the U-20 Indonesia National Team training camp were the squad that competed in the U-19 AFF Cup last. Coach Shin Tae-yong said there was a significant improvement from his last appearance at the event.

“It must be mentally good. Skillfully I feel there is an improvement,” said Shin Tae-yong.

“Young players like this every day will definitely improve. Players show their best,” said the 51-year-old coach.

Minus 6 Players

The Indonesian U-20 national team training camp ahead of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification has been going on since August 26, 2022. However, of the 36 names called up, six of them have not been seen practicing.

They are five Persija Jakarta players, namely Alfriyanto Nico, Cahya Supriadi, Muhammad Ferarri, Frengky Missa, Ginanjar Wahyu, and Marselino Ferdinand (Persebaya Surabaya).

Coach Shin Tae-yong claimed to be able to understand the reasons for the club’s six players who did not want to release them to the U-20 Indonesia national team training camp.

“Indeed personally, I wanted them to come from the start. However, there were problems with their respective teams. So, I can understand. So far there are no big problems,” said Shin Tae-yong.
