5 reasons Lukaku should leave Chelsea and return to Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku’s expression after breaking into the Wolverhampton goal

Romelu Lukaku is considered to have failed to meet expectations at Chelsea. Lukaku has recently been said to want to return to Inter Milan.

Lukaku only returned to Chelsea in the summer of 2021. The Belgian sticker was purchased from Inter Milan for a fee of 115 million euros.

However, Lukaku actually had bad luck in the Premier League. The former Manchester United player struggled to shine with Chelsea.

Lukaku was then widely rumored to be leaving Chelsea in the summer of 2022. One club that has been heavily linked with the 29-year-old is Inter Milan.

Here are five reasons Lukaku should leave Chelsea and return to Inter Milan.

Not Matching Tuchel

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel

Romelu Lukaku was recruited by Chelsea to perfect Thomas Tuchel’s attack. He is expected to score regularly for the Blues.

Tuchel played Lukaku as the spearhead in a 3-4-3 scheme. However, the system did not work well for Lukaku.

As a result, Tuchel was often seen as a substitute for Lukaku throughout last season. The Belgian bomber ended the season scoring 15 goals from 44 games in all competitions.

Before experiencing difficulties at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku thrived at Inter Milan. He was able to score 64 goals in 95 games during his two seasons with the Nerazzurri.

Lukaku also played an important role in bringing Inter to the Scudetto in the 2020/21 season. He also managed to win the title of Serie A’s best player that season.

Lukaku seems more suited to playing in Italy. Returning to play for Inter may be able to restore the career of the Belgian national team bomber.

Romelu Lukaku helped Inter Milan to the Serie A title in the 2020/21 season. However, the Nerazzurri failed to defend the title after Lukaku left for Chelsea.

Lukaku wants to return to Inter this summer. The presence of the Belgian bomber will clearly improve Simone Inzaghi’s Inter front line.

Inter are clearly targeting the Scudetto next season. Lukaku can form a deadly trio with Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez to make that happen.

Unfinished Business with Inzaghi

After being appointed coach of Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi actually really hopes to work with Romelu Lukaku. However, his wish did not come true.

Inzaghi had previously only coached Lukaku for more than a week at the start of the 2020/21 season. After that, the bomber left the Giuseppe Meazza to return to Chelsea.

Inzaghi will certainly welcome Lukaku’s return with open arms this summer. He is ready to make Lukaku the center of his game next season.
